We will start in La Dee Flats OHV by the staging area (45.212663, -122.213055); we will start by taking the trail 800, 802 and then practice the use of Yankum Ropes kinetic to perform a simple extraction using the standard connection points in the vehicle soft shackles. If time permits, we will also demonstrate the use of Maxtrax.
This is a basic introduction to demonstrate the safe way to utilize kinetic ropes, what to keep in mind while doing this, and what’s at stake when performing this maneuvers. What’s ok to do and what to avoid. We will discuss procedures, speeds, forces, and proper gear.
Keep in mind: Bring comfortable clothing. Don’t bring minors to the event. We might ask you to deflate your tires. You will get your vehicle dirty. All trails we will take offer bypasses. You assume all risks for driving offroad and participating in this exercise. You will need an OHV permit. For those who order the rope, it will be delivered the day of the event.
