Jeep liberty stuck in power line

Jeep liberty stuck in power line

Sunday, October 26th, 2025, at 11:28 a.m. (CT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Alabama. The requester, Joshua Dopson, submitted the following information: “Jeep liberty stuck in power line right of way. Entered through friends property. Got jeep liberty stuck, brought in f250 which also got stuck, the friend brought Tahoe that also got stuck. / I’m not with the vehicle / I can help cover the cost of fuel.”

Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 50-mile radius.

From the group of contacted volunteers we had two taking over the recovery, John Mihalik who was 55 miles away and Kurt Burge who was about 75 miles away.

The request was performed without any incidents. Kurt arrived first. The terrain was pretty nasty and Kurt had to work quite a bit to get the vehicle free. At one point even Kurt was a bit stuck. John, who offered to be a backup was also engaged, even though he was an hour away. So once he heard Kurt was having trouble, John started driving toward him.

We didn’t get any notes of photos from Kurt, but we did from John.

From John: I didnt take any photos due to previous recovery person had taken the photos prior to my arrival. As for any tips or tricks always remember to check equipment or gear prior to leaving home.

We want to thank both volunteers for putting a lot of work on getting this recovery completed. You guys are amazing.
