Wednesday, January 7th, 2026, at 10:50 p.m. (MT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Colorado. The requester, Kiara Dempsey, submitted the following information: “I am stuck in the snow on the road on the way to Fourmile Creek Trailhead / I’m with the vehicle / I can help cover the cost of fuel.”
Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 50-mile radius.
From the group of contacted volunteers in this area, Todd Deis offered to help. However, as is customary when dealing with individuals stuck in snow, we always suggest they deflate their tires to improve traction. Kiara, in fact, followed our recommendation. After deflating her tires, she reported that she was able to free her vehicle on her own and was moving again.

We still want to thank Todd for being willing to help.
Side Note:
In situations like snow or mud, decreasing tire pressure can be quite helpful. However, it’s important to note that this suggestion may not be suitable for every situation, and it may not work for everyone. Nevertheless, if you find yourself truly stuck, trying this method might not hurt, and if it doesn’t work, you can still wait for volunteers to assist you in re-inflating your tires once you’ve been rescued.
We have some good articles explaining the benefits of tire deflation. Follow this link to access the article.
