Monday, January 15th, 2024, at 7:25 p.m. (MT), we received a request for an offroad recovery in Idaho, more precisely, on the outskirts of Pocatello. The requester, Gauge Otto, submitted his location and a brief description: “I can’t get into 4w4 in my 89 Jeeps Cherokee no more then 1ft of snow would be an easy get out just need a hand / I’m not with the vehicle.”
We prepared the ticket, and although we don’t have a ton of volunteers in the area, we were able to submit it to local volunteers. Since it was late, Gauge decided to walk down back home and try to get the vehicle recovered in the morning.
The following morning, we had Tony Cameron, a local volunteer who called Gauge and coordinated the recovery. We also have Mike Lafaunce offering to help.
By 7:00 a.m. Gauge texted us; Tony was able to get him out.
We appreciate the help of Tony and all the other volunteers who responded to the request and offered help. You guys rock.
We also want to welcome Gauge as a new volunteer. He signed up as a local volunteer the day after his own recovery.
