Tuesday, August 19th, 2025, at 5:04 p.m. (ET), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Virginia. The requester, Danny Azuaje, submitted the following information: “Jeep grand Cherokee 2014, I ran out of battery, I need a jump to turn it on I have all day here if someone can help me
/ I’m with the vehicle”
Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 55-mile radius.
From the group of contacted volunteers we had Greg H. marking himself as engaging and taking over the recovery right away.
He later sent us a quick note. The recovery was closed by 8:00 p.m.

When I got to Danny the hood w still up, however it was running again. With the light rain and heavy fog I offered to lead them out. I escorted them off the mountain and back to I-81. They were very nice.
The only tips I would have for this situation would be to avoid going alone and to carry a charged jump box.
