Stuck in like a ditch

Stuck in like a ditch

Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 12:43 p.m. (CT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Texas. The requester, Jessica Vega, submitted the following information: “Stuck in like a ditch, its real slimmy and muddy I’m in Streetman / I’m with the vehicle”

Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 70-mile radius.

From the local volunteers we had, the one marking himself as engaging and taking over the recovery was Christopher White. A local volunteer in Texas, just about 100 miles from the requester.

We later got a quick note from Christopher with some details about the recovery.

From Christopher

I woke up early to an overnight request that had been mirrored to my local group. Their Jeep Grand Cherokee had been stuck all night in a muddy ditch off a two-track dirt road. When I arrived it was buried up to the frame. They had used their time to dig out their wheels with an entrenching tool, which helped massively in winching them free. I pulled them out and stayed onsite until they had packed up and made sure they were able to drive out.

We want to thank Christopher for taking on this recovery. Awesome job.
