Saturday, September 13rd, 2025, at 4:19 p.m. (PT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in California. The requester, Zachary Drew, submitted the following information: “93 Chevy astro stuck in sand. Need help getting maybe 100 yards back to gravel / I’m with the vehicle”
Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 65-mile radius.
From the group of local volunteers contacted, we had Robert Mashburn, taking over the recovery. He was 40 miles away from this incident. We also later learned from Robert, he teamed up with Joe Ventura and Laura McKenzie offered to be backup.
The recovery was completed by the volunteers and the ticket was closed at 8:09 p.m. We want to thank Robert and Joe for such great job. Also Laura for offering to be backup. You guys are amazing.
