Tuesday, March 25th, 2025, at 0:36 a.m. (PT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in California. The requester, Anthony Kevin, submitted the following information: “4×4 33″ mudterrain xj 1997 lifted no lockers got a flat tire, changed it front tires ended up being seized back tired spinning not the front. I couldn’t move it after I got the tire on. I left there and put notice onx. Any help would be greatly appreciated / I’m not with the vehicle”
Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 35-mile radius.
The request was received pretty late after midnight, we made an attempt to contact Anthony at 6:00 a.m. and finally were able to verify the request at around 9:00 a.m.

From the group of contacted volunteers we had Bill Scott taking over the request. Is worth mentioning we had several other volunteers also offering help. This area has some incredible volunteers who are always ready to lend a hand and make a difference.
The following morning, Bill coordinated with Anthony. Bill was able to get Anthony’s XJ tire back on the bead. He also reported Anthony’s spare wheel was wrong for the Jeep it jammed on the drag link. That was the reason Anthony lost all traction after replacing the flat tire earlier the night before.
We want to thank Bill for taking on this recovery. Awesome job and great example of voluntarism.
