Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 1:39 p.m. (CT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Mississippi. The requester, Ethan Gambardella , submitted the following information: “Sardis like my exact cordinates are 34.45684° N, 89.64861° W my car is not damaged it’s a Chevy Silverado 4×4 / I’m with the vehicle / I can help cover the cost of fuel.”

Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 70-mile radius.

We attempted to find local help for a while without any luck. We had two volunteers offering help for the following day. A few hours later the requester was able to connect with other volunteers from local groups who were able to help.
