Nissan armada wedged against a tree

Sunday, July 21st, 2024, at 2:20 p.m. (MT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Idaho. The requester, Clare Libby, submitted the following information: “46.1142693, -115.7105324
Fs road 286 A outside Kooskia, Idaho. Stuck Nissan armada wedged against a tree on the downside of the hill. / I’m not with the vehicle.

After verifying the GPS location and situation, we distributed the request to local volunteers in Idaho within a 70-mile radius.

A few minutes after the request was sent at 2:50 p.m., a plethora of volunteers gathered in our lobby, brainstorming recovery ideas.

By 6:40 p.m., Rick Kessler announced that he planned to help with the recovery the following morning, traveling from Lewiston, ID, about 100 miles away. Later, we learned that Brendon Dotson had teamed up with Rick for this mission, also coming from Lewiston. Together, they drove more than 400 miles back and forth.

Rick updated our lobby with this:2 of us are headed down tomorrow afternoon. Trying to find out if we can get permission. Other than that portable winch and atv. After looking at aerials this is on a goat trail. She has ripped off her bumper and it’s a mess. It’s going to be a challenge. She spent 2 days trying to get out of there. Had to leave her 6 year old daughter behind and hike out.

The following day, we got this quick note from Rick: “Truck Recovered Brendon Dodson winches the truck up and owner drove it out. Was a good day!

A few days later, Rick shared some photos and a quick note: “Brendon Dodson helped me, actually did all the work. He winched the truck. Gotta give him credit.

We want to thank Rick and Brendon, you guys are amazing. Excellent work. (offroad recovery in Idaho)
