Saturday, September 13rd, 2025, at 4:47 p.m. (MT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Utah. The requester, Kavian Goharderakhshan, submitted the following information: “was driving horse canyon road on Thursday night and Friday morning I woke up to flash flooding. Luckily I had high ground but the road back goes over some river crossings that have gotten real muddy. I made it through the first crossing using my recovery boards but the second crossing I got to I placed my boards incorrectly and now they’re buried under my vehicle. I think I just need to be tugged forward / I’m with the vehicle / I can help cover the cost of fuel”
Our administrator, David Mrak, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 80-mile radius.
From the group of contacted volunteers we had Jonathan Little and his friend Jeff, taking over the recovery. They were around 100 miles away and willing to go lend a hand.

Later Jonathan sent us a cool video and a few notes to understand the details of this recovery.
From Jonathan
Guy was buried to the frame, he tried to self rescue with recovery boards, but was too muddy. It dried over night and once we dug out a bit, we were able to use my sxs and winch out. It was a MUDDY trip back but successful in a few hours. Me and a buddy went. He has a can am commander and I have a can am maverick max turbo.
We want to thank Jonathan and Jeff for taking care of this recovery. Amazing job guys!
