Sunday, June 2nd, 2024, at 10:32 a.m. (ET), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Michigan. The requester, Arthur Greenlee, submitted the following information: “GMC canyon AT4X 2023. I’m currently stuck in a swamp. SOS / I’m not with the vehicle.”
David Mrak, our general administrator for Offroad Portal, answered the request, contacted Arthur, and confirmed the GPS location and situation before sending the request to local volunteers within a 75-mile radius.
By 11:30 a.m., we had Kaleb Edwards, a local volunteer, offering help. Kaleb was 30 miles away and willing to go within the hour. Initially, Arthur was going to attempt to self-recover the vehicle with the help of some friends. But by noon, since we didn’t get any news, Kaleb jumped into action and attended to the request.
By 1:00 p.m., the request was closed. We are hoping for more information from Kaleb, perhaps some photos so we can share them here.
