My car just needs to be pulled up about 20-30 feet

Saturday, December 13rd, 2025, at 18:27 p.m. (MT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Utah. The requester, Sara Gerasimiak, submitted the following information: “Subaru Forrester. And another car. My car just needs to be pulled up about 20-30 feet . The other car is a sedan and is about 25 feet further and in a worse position. We are stuck because of ice on a decline. Another car is blocking us going forward and we can’t backup the hill. It is on Lava Point Rd in Washington County Utah / I’m with the vehicle”

Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 140-mile radius.

This recovery occurred in the evening. We spoke with Sara and suggested they deflate their tires to improve traction. The road was quite icy, so we decided to wait until the morning with daylight to attempt a recovery. We checked and they were fine spending the night in the vehicle.

From the group of contacted volunteers, we had Denton Sullivan a local volunteer taking over the recovery, marking himself as engaging and driving over 55 miles to help in this recovery. He later sent us a quick note and photos we share down below.

From Denton

We straight pulled the Subaru backwards up the hill. It was pretty easy.

The Hyundai was harder. Snatch blocked to tree to pull out of the ditch, then bridled to lower control arm and winched it up to the jeep, then pulled it up on top.

Wasn’t too bad minus the three falls on the ice lol.

We want to express our gratitude to Denton for handling this request with utmost care and expertise. Your exceptional work is truly commendable!
