Saturday, January 24th, 2026, at 4:24 p.m. (CT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Texas. The requester, Robert Vekved, submitted the following information: “Semi Truck stuck in dirt a few inches under the hub on the front and rear wheels. The driver Robert is with the vehicle now. / I’m with the vehicle / I can help cover the cost of fuel.”
Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 20-mile radius.
From the group of volunteers we contacted, Diego Perez volunteered to take over the recovery. He was very engaged and traveled approximately 10 miles to assist Robert.

By 6:10 p.m., Diego closed the request, he was able to get the truck unstuck and he later submitted a follow up email with a few photos and a short note we share below.
From Diego
Hello, I was using a regular recovery rope before a guy named Billy in a jeep showed up with a kinetic rope, he let me use it and I yanked him right out! Biggest tip I can offer is to invest in a kinetic rope! I’ll be looking for one right now!

We want to thank Diego for such great job, and also all other volunteers who responded to the request. Also Billy who provided the kinetic rope to facilitate this recovery of a heavy vehicle in an icy zone.
