Sometimes, help means just a phone call

Saturday, March 9th, 2024, at 3:33 p.m. (MT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Montana. The requester, Tucker Johnson, submitted the following information: “Stuck in snow, new 4×4 f250 on 37 inch RT tires. Have a front winch and can still not get myself out. On a state dirt road just west of Baldy mountain, north of plains MT. Road name Corona or state road 1025. / I’m with the vehicle.”

David Mrak handled the request; he verified the requester’s contact information, location, and situation. Once everything was checked, he submitted the request to local volunteers.

David contacted around 15 local volunteers who were in a 50-mile radius. Pretty much all volunteers who were contacted responded to the invitation to our lobby. We had many volunteers participating and offering help.

By 5:00 p.m., Steve Settle, a local volunteer announced in the lobby he had 2 equipped vehicles ready to go, also Jim James was offering to help.

By 6:00 p.m., Steve managed to talk over the phone with Tucker, and with the instructions Steve shared with the requester, he was able to get himself free and down the mountain on his own.

We really appreciate Steve’s help, sometimes, just a phone call is all they need in order to figure it out. Awesome.
