Offroad recovery in New York

Wednesday, September 18th, 2024, at 2:04 p.m. (ET), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in New York. The requester, Bowen Higgins, submitted the following information: “On the end well trails in a green Toyota / I’m with the vehicle

David Mrak organized the recovery, contacted the requester, and verified the GPS coordinates and situation before sending this ticket to local volunteers within a 50-mile radius.

From the group of contacted volunteers, and within 15 minutes of the initial request, we got two volunteers offering immediate help and another offering help for later.

The two volunteers engaged were Gerald Locke and Ryan Dodge. The recovery was completed in less than one hour. By 3:00 p.m., the request was closed, and Gerald announced the requester was safe and on his way out. Gerald later sent us a quick note and a short clip from his dashboard.

Gerald note:

The Mosquitoes were horrible by the river, and the 2 of us wanted to get out of there away from them asap, so we didn’t take any photos. Here is the dashcam clip if it’s something you can use.

We want to thank Gerald and Ryan. Their quick response was awesome. (offroad recovery in New York)
