Wednesday, February 5th, 2025, at 4:02 p.m. (PT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery near Beatty, Oregon. The requester, Joyce Jones, submitted the following information: “Stuck in snow / I’m with the vehicle”
Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 35-mile radius.
It took just 5 minutes after posting the request for local volunteers before Ethan Merron jumped in to help! 💪 Within 20 minutes, he was already on his way, keeping in touch with the stranded driver and updating us along the way.
The journey wasn’t easy—icy roads made for a slow and tricky drive, but that didn’t stop Ethan. After a 2-hour trek, he arrived at the location around 7:50 p.m. And get this—just 15 minutes later, the vehicle was free! 🚙💨
