Monday, February 19th, 2024, at 8:16 a.m. (ET), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in North Carolina. The requester, Justin Avery Stuart, submitted the following information: “Well, I was a dumbass in a dumbass car. Now I’m stuck in the mud in a gold Toyota Avalon on some access path in the woods behind Tower Acc Rd. Money, gas, food whatever you want I got you. If you have a CB radio, I’m on channel 22 / I’m with the vehicle.”
Our administrator, David Mrak, handled the request; he verified the location and contacted Justin, and once everything was checked, he submitted the request to local volunteers within a radius of 45 miles.
Within 20 minutes, we had several local volunteers offering to help in the afternoon and also some during the morning. But just seconds before our first volunteer was able to mark himself as engaging and contact the requester, Justing himself wrote in our chatroom that he managed to get free.
The request was closed. We still want to thank all the volunteers who responded to the call and offered to help so quickly. Thanks, everyone.
