I am stuck on a sand and mud trail

Wednesday, January 1st, 2025, at 6:50 p.m. (ET), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in South Carolina. The requester, Larry Lawrence, submitted the following information: “I am on a sand and mud lane that follows the power lines. / I’m not with the vehicle / I can help cover the cost of fuel.”

Our administrator, David Mrak, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 60-mile radius.

The request was sent out to volunteers around 7:30 p.m. and remained open. Early the following morning, David sent a reminder. A few volunteers initially showed up in our lobby, and throughout the day, more volunteers became available.

One of the volunteers, Christopher Konchalski, reached out to Larry to offer assistance. However, Larry informed him that he no longer needed help as a friend had already stepped in.

We still want to thank all the volunteers who marked themselves as standing by, and especially Christopher for following up and ensuring Larry was taken care of. Thank you, everyone. (offroad recovery in South Carolina)
