Thursday, May 7th, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. (MT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Colorado. The requester, Chris Gabbrants , submitted the following information: “I’m a 1/4 into 126N off of 128 Caribou Road. I have a Hyundai Tuscon 2wd. I just need help getting down the 1/4 mile to 128 / I’m with the vehicle / I can help cover the cost of fuel.”
Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 30-mile radius.
From the group of volunteers we reached out to, Curt Boyll volunteered to take over this recovery task. Curt was approximately 25 miles away, and it would take him about 60 minutes to reach the location. He promptly marked himself as available and took action about an hour after the request was submitted. By 3 p.m., the request had been successfully completed.
Curt sent us a quick note on our lobby: “That was a good recovery, even with the usual problem of actually finding them.”
We truly appreciate Curt’s assistance in this recovery. As always, he’s an invaluable resource in that field. His unwavering commitment to helping others is truly commendable.
