The front driver’s side cv has failed

Monday, February 19th, 2024, at 7:03 p.m. (MT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Montana. The requester, Lindsey E Dissinger, submitted the following information: “2006 Dark gray V8 4runner with all terrain tires. Front driver’s side cv has failed during attempted self-recovery. Vehicle is off the left side of the forest service road (inside of the corner) in deep snow on a a fairly steep side angle. Husband thinks one well-equipped vehicle with winch could get the vehicle unstuck. About two miles away from dry pavement, we would feel completely comfortable driving home from. Opposite side of road includes large gateway area and packed snow. I do not currently with the vehicle, but I could be with it within a half hour of any time/call. / I’m not with the vehicle.

We contacted Lindsey, verified the location and situation, and submitted the request to local volunteers within a 20-mile radius.

By 7:22 p.m., volunteers had already responded. Cordell Maines, Dylan Baker, and Filip Dziadek took charge of the recovery.

By 8:24 p.m., the recovery was closed. The requester announced he was free and going back home.

Later, Filip sent us a quick note: “Definitely good to bring more than one vehicle for recovery, and 43’s are awesome. I managed to get “delayed” about a half mile from the site, and while I was chaining up a group who was not on the app/checked as responding rolled up with the recovered vehicle! It was a good time, and it was nice meeting everyone. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any photos.

We want to thank all the volunteers involved. Your guys rock!.
