Sunday, October 26th, 2025, at 10:03 a.m. (PT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Nevada. We received the request from a third party: “Two hikers passed by a stuck van on the hills near the trail they were following. They talked to the person; he said he has no means of communication, but he needs help. He got stuck on Friday. We do not have his name or phone number. Just the photos the hikers shared with us. / I’m with the vehicle”
Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 10-mile radius.
From the group of contacted volunteers we got Ryan Scarberry marking himself as engaging and helping find volunteers with the group SNORR who partner with us in this area. These guys are great, and in lots of recoveries in this area they are a great resource.

No more than 40 minutes later, Ryan updated us in our lobby, he had a volunteer already working on the vehicle. By Noon, the request was closed, and the vehicle was unstuck and heading out.
This request had little information to begin with, and after the request was completed, we got no photos.
We want to thank Ryan and all the volunteers from SNORR who got involved and helped in this recovery. You guys rock!
