Tuesday, December 6th, at 1:00 p.m. (PST), we received a request for help from Washington were Joshua Modisette and his family found themselves stranded on their SUV on a icy/snowed road while trying to turn around.
We confirmed the location and checked the contact information with Joshua to submit the request to volunteers near by and groups around the area.
The request read: “I’m with the family and need help. We are outside of Darrington approximate location, about 3 miles north west of Darrington. We just needs a little pull. We got stuck while trying to turn. / I’m with the vehicle“
This is a pretty isolated area in WA, with a few volunteers near the area. We also contact our friends from WORN, a great local organization and with their help we were able to find help and get them out.
From this group, Joseph Regula-Morris got dispatch. Here is the note he left about the recovery: “So got dispatched out around 2:30 p.m., for recovery close to Darrington with Todd O. He was in a 2013 JKU Rubicon stock but nicely stocked with recovery gear. The vehicle was stuck approximately 9 miles up. In trying to free himself something broke in the transfer case. A little tugging from front and back we got him back on the hard pack. At which time another person Keith C. From bottom of hill came up in his well built Jeep and helped us turn the vehicle around. The vehicle would somewhat drive under it’s own power back down. Where we met up with his friend and followed them back to Arlington to where they called a tow truck.“
By 7:49 p.m., the ticket in our lobby was closed and Joshua and his family were safe and back down.
