Sunday, January 14th, 2024, at 4:48 p.m. (PT), we received a request in our emergency line (503-877-5263) for an offroad recovery in Oregon near the city of Sweet Home. The requester, Jacob Willcox, submitted the following information by text with a couple of photos and his location: “I am up past McDowell Creek Park up a logging road my truck is stuck in a ditch up against a tree needs two box winches / I’m with the vehicle.“
We gathered all the information, assembled the ticket, and submitted it to local volunteers. By 5:01 p.m., the request was out, and by 5:03, we had Tyson Rust and William Reddicks taking over the recovery. Teaming up and heading over almost right away. By 7:09 p.m., Tyson updated the Lobby, informing us they got the vehicle recovered.
William later sent us a quick note about the recovery: “No pictures. He was stuck up a logging road past an unlocked gate. I anchored to a tree and attached wich to his front end. Tyson anchored to another truck that was the kid’s friend and used a snatch block to a tree and then to his rear tow point. I kept him from going further into the tree as Tyson pulled his back end onto the road. Went smoothly. He had his tires at 60 psi. We schooled him about airing down next time he went out. He was on the road at 6:50 PM.“
We want to thank both volunteers, William and Tyson; you guys did an awesome job. Thank you.
