2 wheel drive stuck in the mud

Wednesday, February 26th, 2025, at 7:14 p.m. (PT), we received a request for help with an off-road recovery near Sprague River in Oregon. The requester, David McCracken, submitted the following information: “2 wheel drive black 1996 Dodge Dakota. Stuck in the mud and have been for a few days. 1 mile from solid ground / I’m with the vehicle”

Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, the GPS location, and the current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 35-mile radius.

We had a bunch of volunteers coordinating, and finally, some volunteers from the group klamath falls offroad recovery were able to take care of this request.

Leslie Clifton and Isaac Nunez, two very active members of the Portal, shared information back and forth and kept us up to date on the efforts.
