Chevy stuck on some rocks

Chevy stuck on some rocks

Monday, June 16th, 2025, at 1:47 p.m. (PT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in California. The requester, Richard Mcfarland, submitted the following information: “1990 Chevy G20. We are stuck on some rocks and burnt shrubs on a dirt/sandy road. We are in the middle of the forest down windy roads. We can help cover cost of fuel. / I’m with the vehicle”

Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 15-mile radius.

This request was received in the evening. From the group of contacted volunteers we had Brandon Hawkins taking over the recovery the following day. We also had Eddie Kochara offering help.

The following day, Brandon marked himself as engaging and proceeded toward Richard. Brandon was about 30 miles west from him. By 8:30 p.m the request was closed by Brandon. He later told us: “Simple hilift jack recovery,no pictures. Jack it up,put rocks under tiree, drive out.could have self recovered if they had a jack.”

We want to thank Brandon and also all other volunteers who offered help or responded to the call. You guys rock!
