Polaris buried in mud in northern Texas

Wednesday, April 17th, 2024, at 5:33 p.m. (CT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery near Amarillo, Texas. The requester, Bernie Zanoni, submitted the following information: “Currently stuck off Canadian River – all party members (2) are safe, just need help recovering a Polaris Rzr 1000. Currently headed toward 287 and Canadian River junction: 26510 US-287, Amarillo, TX 79108 / I’m not with the vehicle.”

David Mrak contacted the requester and verified the location and situation before sending the ticket to local volunteers within a large 140-mile radius. There is no need to explain in this area, northern Texas, near the city of Amarillo, we have a very scarce presence of volunteers, and our system automatically adjusts to invite at least a minimum quantity of members before sharing.

From the list of volunteers, we had two; the first was Danny Blankenship, who was in Amarillo, 20 miles south of the incident, and the second volunteer, Wayne Carson, who was 100 miles south of the requester who was willing to be a backup if Danny needed extra help.

Danny enlisted a local friend from Amarillo to help him in the recovery of this ATV. Danny arrived at the site at 9:00 p.m. The recovery was finished at 9:40 p.m. He later sent us a few photos we share below.

We want to thank Danny for taking care of this request and also Wayne for offering to be of assistance if he was in need of extra help. Awesome work, guys! (offroad recovery near Amarillo)
