Saturday, May 11th, 2024, at 6:41 p.m. (PT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Madras, Oregon. The requester, Max Mccord, submitted the following information: “2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, bogged down in the mud, possibly high centered. 🙁 4WD Lo, rear lockers, and toe hooks. Just need a good tug I think. We have food and supplies, gas, etc. / I’m with the vehicle.”
After receiving this request, within 5 minutes, we contacted Max and verified the contact information, GPS location, and situation before sending it to local volunteers within a 30-mile radius.
The first volunteer who took over the recovery was Tyler Lefebvre, but a few minutes later, Donald Claypool, who was much closer, offered help, so in the end, Don was the one who actually performed the recovery.
By 8:00 p.m. Donald marked the recovery closed. Unfortunately, we didn’t receive any notes or photos from the volunteer.
