July 7th, at 11:04 a.m. (PST), we received a recovery request from near Coos Bay, where Brandon Koch got stuck in soft sand in his Ford F150. His request information read:“Off north transit parkway before the big bridge. Stuck on the north beach access. I hit some soft sand and bottomed out hard. I tried digging around and putting carpet and sticks but it’s not going anywhere. / I’m with the vehicle”.
We verified the contact information and location of the request and submitted the recovery to volunteers nearby at around 11:13 a.m. By 12:18 p.m., we got Avery Howell, a volunteer who was 10 minutes away from the incident in route to help.
The recovery was closed by Avery at 12:59 p.m. Later Brandon sent us a thank you note by text. He was more than appreciative about our organization helping him. Good job Avery, you saved the day!.
