Sunday, June 23rd, 2024, at 9:39 a.m. (ET), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Pennsylvania. The requester, Jiecheng Yao, submitted the following information: “Fell off the trail and got stuck in mud. Also, the truck is pinned to a tree. Thanks! / I’m with the vehicle.”
Our general admin, David Mrak, organized the request and verified the contact information provided, the GPS location of the vehicle, and the situation before submitting the request to local volunteers within a 35-mile radius.
From the group of volunteers contacted, Connor Duffy took over the request. He made contact and connected with the requester. By noon, they were both in the area.
Connor later sent us a few photos and a short note: “I don’t have a location saved but it was in east Pennsylvania, a white Toyota got down a trail that got too rough and too tight to turn around. Slid off and was wedged against a tree. Got my tj in there no problem winched it sideways off the tree to avoid doing any extra damage, then pulled it back onto the trail and winched the front end around a corner and we drove out.“
We appreciate Connor’s help, as well as all the other volunteers in the area who responded to the call. You guys are amazing. (offroad recovery in Pennsylvania)
