Wednesday, January 7th, 2026, at 5:54 a.m. (PT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in California. The requester, Josue Ceja, submitted the following information: “2016 GMC sierra rwd stuck in mud, 4-5 feet from solid ground . / I’m not with the vehicle / I can help cover the cost of fuel.”
Our administrator, David Mrak, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 20-mile radius.
From the group of volunteers we reached out to, Brandon Hawkins took charge of the recovery. He later mentioned that it was a breeze—just an in-and-out, quick pull, and it was all over. He didn’t manage to snap any photos, but he was about 20 miles away from where the rngequest came in. The recovery wrapped up in no time, within the hour.
