Saturday, November 15th, 2025, at 12:35 p.m. (PT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in California. The requester, David Va Arsdale, submitted the following information: “2015 Chevy Silverado Duramax HD. I am stuck in mud. Driver side axel deep. / I’m with the vehicle / I can help cover the cost of fuel.”
Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 60-mile radius.
From the group of local volunteers we contacted, we had three taking over the request, marking themselves as engaging before contacting the requester. Mike Haviland who was at 85 miles, Paul Haskew at 86 miles and Shawn Johnston at around 40 miles.
The request was done by 5:30 p.m. and although we didn’t receive a post recovery report on this case, so we have very little information to share, but we still want to thanks all three volunteers involved.
