During the weekend of January 13th-14th, we had a bunch of recoveries. Some were very simple and some bit more complicated.
In Oregon, we had a car stuck in an apartment complex blocking traffic; we asked the requester if he had tried a towing service. But he tried for hours to get a towing service to go without any luck. We simply went there with a jeep and moved the vehicle back into a parking lot.
In Kentucky, David Wilson shared this recovery he helped with: “Assisted in this recovery he was frozen in the ground.”
In Montana Denny Beach shared the following: “Things break at 35 below”
In the following days, we also helped get another car out safely that was left during the snowstorm on a trail; it wasn’t as much of a recovery, but rather an Uber service 🙂
I’m sure there were a dozen more recoveries down by our volunteers around the country. And although we don’t usually help in recoveries within city limits unless special circumstances force us to offer help when nobody else is available.
Thanks to all the volunteers who drove many miles in the cold weather to help strangers. Your guys are amazing.
