Thursday, April 6th 2023, at 11:39 a.m. (PST) we received an offroad recovery request from near Bend, Oregon, where Tom Willis, the requester, submitted the following description: “Less than 100yrds from Hwy. Sprinter Van. Clear path to me, mostly dug out just need a good nudge / I’m with the vehicle“
Our administrator in the Deschutes area, Tyler Lefebvre handled the administration of this recovery. He checked the location of the incident and confirmed the contact information. Then he submitted the request to local volunteers. Just a few minutes later, Andrew Forster, a local volunteer contacted the requester and took over the recovery.
By 1:02 p.m., Andrew closed the request. He later sent us some photos and a quick note: “Headed out of Bend up to Big Springs Burn Rd, Sprinter van wasn’t too far off the main road, the snow was icy and wet. Aired down the tires on my Toyota and gave him a couple of tugs and helped him out to the pavement, only took us a few minutes and he was on his way again.“
