Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 2:47 p.m. (CT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Alabama. The requester, Jeremy Shafer, submitted the following information: “2013 Range Rover bottomed out in a mud hole off of 565 and the Flint River. / I’m not with the vehicle”
Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 25-mile radius.
From the group of contacted volunteers we had Caleb Vilander taking over the recovery within minutes of releasing the ticket to local volunteers. Caleb marked himself as engaging and jumped into action pretty much inmediately. Caleb traveled around 42 miles to get to where Jeremy was stuck.

Later he sent us a few photos and a quick note we share below.
From Caleb

Pretty easy recovery, even though he was bottomed out with all 4 tires spinning. Only took 4 or 5 pulls with a yankum to get him free. I am so glad I spent the time to install reverse floodlights, backing in and hooking up was a breeze! Pleasure meeting Jeremy, hope things go more smoothly in the future lol.
We want to thank Caleb for an amazing job, and for taking the time to travel 42 miles each way to help in this recovery. Awesome!
