Saturday, February 17th, 2024, at 5:22 a.m. (PT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Oregon. The requester, Ryan Huddleston, submitted the following information: “4×4 Yukon XL stuck 4 ft from dry land on BLM road no tree to winch off. About a mile down Wren Drive… nothing bad before us. I just need a tug out me and my dogs are cold / I’m with the vehicle.“
David Mrak coordinated the request. He verified the information and passed the recovery to volunteers. By 5:37 a.m., the request was sent out. He also invited the requester over to our chatroom (Lobby) to make it easier to coordinate with volunteers.

By 5:46 a.m., we had Marc Estep, our local hero, taking over the request one more time. By 6:02 a.m., he was en route, and by 7:29 a.m., he closed the request. Later sent us a few pictures and a quick note.

Marc’s note:
Pretty basic. Single winch pulls backward. They had a winch but not enough line to reach an anchor.
