Friday, March 1st, 2024, at 10:14 a.m. (PT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in California. The requester, Tim Mcfaddin, submitted the following information: “I’m in a propane truck about 2 miles in on rd 612 off rd 600 Superslick road / I’m with the vehicle.”
Our general administrator, David Mrak, organized this request. He contacted the requester and verified the location and situation before passing the request to local volunteers.
By 10:24 a.m., we had a dozen local volunteers responding to the text message and jumping on our lobby from a 40-mile radius.
About 25 minutes after sharing the request, Shawn Mecca took over the request. We were 20 minutes away and ready to make contact with the requester.
By 11:52 a.m. Shawn had recovered Tim’s truck. David closed the request.
