RV stuck in the snow

Friday, March 29th, 2024, at 8:14 p.m. (PT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Nevada. The requester, Maureen & Kenny Bonnefin, submitted the following information: “Stuck in about 6 inches of mud & snow about 10 miles north of Elko NV. Tried to turn around and sunk off the side of the main BLM road. Main road is firm & stable but may have a bit of snow by morning. Have a winch, but nothing strong enough to tie off to. F250 with custom camper. See picture. Have food, water, a warm place to sleep. Pictures also have screenshots of the location. / I’m with the vehicle.”

We contacted the requester and confirmed the contact information, location, and situation. We contact just a handful of volunteers within a 50-mile radius. We also had Brian Glicken, a local Nevada administrator for Offroad Portal and also a member of the group SNORR, Southern Nevada Off Road Recovery. He was able to invite some more local volunteers, and from them, 3 performed the recovery.

We want to thank Brian, who shared the request with Jonathon Anderson, who coordinated the recovery with two other volunteers. You guys are awesome.

We are looking for more volunteers in this area; if you would like to receive a text message when we get a request near you, create your account here: offroadportal.org/signup
