Stranded on a cliff in the middle of nowhere

Sunday, March 23rd, 2025, at 1:05 a.m. (PT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in California. The requester, Kim Key, submitted the following information: “2022 Hyundai Accent (white 4 door) stranded on a hill or cliff in the middle of nowhere. About 1/2 mile from Trout & Summit Valley Road in Hesperia/Lugo, ca. My son, Troy is waiting on the above street. His phone has 10% left of power. / I’m not with the vehicle / I can help cover the cost of fuel.

Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 10-mile radius.

From the group of contacted volunteers we had Eddie Kochara and James Lego from Desert Recovery taking over the request and getting the vehicle recovered safely.

We wan’t thank both of them and all other volunteers who offered to help as well. You guys are always amazing.
