It is down a logging road about 150 yards

Monday, March 17th, 2025, at 9:15 a.m. (CT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Alabama. The requester, Kenny R Lee, submitted the following information: “It is down a logging road about 150 yards. Ma and my son drove down a old logging road and got to the bottom and got stuck I’ve been trying for two days to dig it out but can’t the frame is on the ground / I’m with the vehicle / I can help cover the cost of fuel.”

Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 30-mile radius.

On the first day we couldn’t find anybody close by to help, but the following morning we found help for Kenny.

From the group of contacted volunteers we had Jesse Wilson, marking himself as engaging and taking over the recovery.

Jesse was about an hour away, he went home grab his other vehicle, his recovery gear and headed over planning to arrive around 1:00 p.m.

By 2:43 p.m. the requested was closed by Jesse. He later sent us a few photos we shared above and a quick note.

From Jesse

I tried everything I could think of on YouTube – tricks, hacks, and all. But nothing seemed to work. So, I got creative. I put the bumper of my Jeep on a tree and used a winch, a pulley, and two soft shackles to break the suction. Then, I grabbed a kinetic rope and made two good pulls to get him out. Finally, I pulled him the rest of the way.

We want to thank Jesse and all other volunteers who responded to the call and also tried to help along the way in this offroad recovery in Alabama. You guys rock!.
