Sunday, June 2nd, 2024, at 0:05 a.m. (ET), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Tennessee. The requester, Aaron Schwarz, submitted the following information: “I have a decent-sized property that I cleaned tree debris from when I got stuck in the mud. The mud got in the tread, and now I have slick tires. The truck started to slide to the fence, so I stopped attempting self-recovery. / I’m with the vehicle.”
The request was organized by David Mrak, one of our general administrators for Offroad Portal. He contacted Aaron and verified the GPS coordinates and situation before submitting the ticket to local volunteers.
The request was submitted after midnight, and it was handled and distributed to volunteers early in the morning. From the volunteers contacted, within 10 minutes, we had Moose Petersen taking over the request.
He later sent us some photos and a quick note:
Straight forward recovery. Old man, old truck, street tires being used off the pavement. Rain here has been plentiful in the last few days, even weeks. He was tending to his property, and the off-camber terrain with soft ground was too much for the truck. I used a Jeep JLUR in 4L and a kinetic rope and just easily moved him along and away from the fence line. (offroad recovery in Tennessee)
We want to thank Moose for helping with this recovery, and we will be sending his free decal this week!
