Saturday, January 06, 2024, at 1:55 p.m. (CT), we received a request for an offroad recovery in Alabama. The requester, Jordan Emmons, submitted his location and a brief description: “2002 Jeep XJ four-wheel drive. Stuck on a tree near mud / I’m with the vehicle.”
We contacted Jordan right away and verified his information and location. He submitted a few photos, and once the ticket was ready, we passed the request to local volunteers at 2:11 p.m.
At 2:19 p.m., Cordy McDonald assumed responsibility for the request. He promptly reached out to Jordan and, within a few minutes, commenced his journey towards the incident site. Originating from Ohatchee in the Northeast, he was approximately 30 miles away, equating to an estimated 40-minute drive from the scene.
By 4:30 p.m., he announced in the lobby he got Jordan out and submitted a couple of photos.
We express gratitude for Cody’s assistance and commend his readiness to travel such a distance to aid a complete stranger. Once again, our volunteers never cease to amaze me. (offroad recovery in Alabama)
