Friday, February 14th, 2025, at 5:53 p.m. (CT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Alabama. The requester, Adam Calvert, submitted the following information: “ZR2 and I’m roughly 10 yards from solid ground but slid off into ditch / I’m with the vehicle / I can help cover the cost of fuel.”
Our administrator, David Mrak, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 25-mile radius.
From the group of volunteers we reached out to, two jumped in almost immediately—Robert Tipton and Chris Branham. Within an hour, the recovery was complete! They ran into a bit of trouble locating the vehicle and figuring out how to reach it, but in the end, everything worked out perfectly.

Huge thanks to Robert and Chris for getting it done so quickly, and also to everyone else who responded to the call. You guys rock! (offroad recovery in Alabama)
