Saturday, July 22nd, 2023, at 10:56 p.m., a request from Washington State was received in our system. Jordan Lederman submitted a request for an offroad recovery. His request included the following note and the location: “Jeep wrangler stuck to the frame in beverly sand dunes / I’m with the vehicle“
We connected with Jordan a few minutes after he submitted the ticket, but we decided to handle this request in the morning, with daylight.
At 7:30 a.m. the following day, we submitted the request to local volunteers. Just twelve minutes later, at 7:42 a.m., we got Colby Mercer taking over the recovery.
By 9:35 a.m., Colby closed the request; he was able to get Jordan out. He later sent us the following note and photos.
From Colby: “Recovery went smooth. Vehicle had become stuck, then tried turning around and sunk tires into the dry sand. Hooked up 20′ recovery rope with safety straps. Gave it light bumps and got vehicle back on top and towed over to better terrain. Driver thanked us and went on her way back to pavement.“
Colby, Thank you, we appreciate you helping Jordan. By the way, this is not Colby’s first recovery with us. He is a very active member in Washington and we do appreciate that. Here is another recovery performed by Colby: offroadportal.org/sandy-recovery-in-beverly-dunes-wa/
