Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024, at 11:02 p.m. (PT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Oregon. The requester, Shashank Bhat, submitted the following information: “I am stuck in wet mud in middle of alvord lake. Please help me get to paved road / I’m with the vehicle.”
We verified the contact information, GPS location, and situation before submitting the request to volunteers within a 125-mile radius.
Within minutes of submitting the request, we had quite a few volunteers chatting and trying to figure out a plan. Some volunteers were available the following day, some were available on the weekend.
Luckily, within a couple of hours, some passersby were able to get him out before any of our volunteers got involved.
We still want to thank all those volunteers who responded to the request. Areas like this one are very isolated, and we usually struggle to find help. But our amazing volunteers will travel miles and miles to help. Thank you guys! (offroad recovery in Oregon)
