A technician stuck in the mud

Tuesday, June 6th, 2023, at 1:57 p.m. (PDT), a request for help with an offroad recovery in Oregon was received on our systems.

The requester, Thomas Mclaren, submitted the ticket on behalf of Emmanuel, the technician stuck on the field. He only had communication with Emmanuel by using a satellite communicator. We verified the GPS location and submitted the request to volunteers.

Thomas’s request read: “A technician, Emmanuel, is stuck in the mud on Gap Ranch-Wagontire Rd east of Burns, OR. Emmanuel is in a 4WD Tacoma work truck. Cell service at Emmanuel’s location is poor but I am in contact with him by satellite message system. I am coordinating Emmanuel’s work from the Medford area and cannot quickly visit the site to provide assistance. I am likely the easiest point of contact at this time. / I’m not with the vehicle

From the volunteers contacted, we had Tim Titus taking over the recovery. Tim was about one hour away; Emmanuel’s truck was empty when he arrived. Emmanuel had left with another technician. Tim reached out to us, we asked Thomas, and he had Emmanuel return to the truck. It took about an hour for them to return while Tim waited patiently.

We appreciate Tim’s rapid response and help with this recovery.
