Sunday, February 11th, 2024, at 11:01 a.m. (CT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in Wisconsin. The requester, Phillip Daniel Zila, submitted the following information: “2008 Ford Explorer 4×4 / I’m not with the vehicle.”
The request was coordinated by David Mrak, one of our general administrators. He reached out to Phillip and verified the contact information and GPS location. He submitted the request to volunteers by 11:23 a.m., and by 11:32 a.m., he got Gene Kittelson to take over the recovery.
Gene was available at 4:00 p.m., so the recovery was set for the afternoon. By noon, the requester reached out. He was able to get the vehicle out himself, but we still want to thank Gene and all the other volunteers who responded and offered help.
