Friday, June 27th, 2025, at 4:31 p.m. (PT), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in California. The requester, Summer Kemock , submitted the following information: “My 1990 Chevy G-20 van is stuck in deep sand. My dog dug a hole in front of the back right tire and I did not notice until it was too late. We (my dogs and I) are near Black Rock campground and Yucca valley, on a piece of public land in the Mojave Land Trust, I think. / I’m with the vehicle”
Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 40-mile radius.map
From the group of contacted volunteers we had Bill Scott taking over the request. By 7:00 p.m. the vehicle was back on the road and the ticket was closed. unfortunately we didn’t receive any details from the volunteer.
