Thursday, September 4th, 2025, at 5:02 p.m. (ET), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in New Jersey. The requester, Ahron Oberlander, submitted the following information: “Sedan, front wheel drive Stuck in sand / I’m with the vehicle”
Our administrator, Al Fontan, contacted the requester and verified the contact information provided, GPS location, and current situation before sending the request to local volunteers. In this particular recovery, we contacted volunteers within a 20-mile radius.
From the group of local volunteers we contacted, two of them responded, Blaine Gallaher and Brian Brown, indicating their engagement and readiness to assist with the request. They promptly moved toward the specified area within minutes. Blaine was 18 miles away, while Brian was about 28 miles away.

The recovery was pretty straight forward and it was resolved as soon as the volunteers arrived. They both later shared some quick notes after the recovery was completed.
From Brian
Easy recovery, he had spent hours trying to dig out by hand , quick tow rope looped around rear control arm and a small pull and he was out and free within 3 minutes of our arrival on scene
From Blaine
Pretty simple. Hyundai sedan got his front wheels in the soft sugar sand. Two soft shackles around rear control arm and other responder Brian tugged him about 5 feet and he was out of the obstacle and drive it home.
Easy day, the guy that was stuck was very appreciative as it was getting dark and rain came down shortly after recovery.
We want to thank both volunteers, as always you guys save the day.
