Was inspecting power lines for work and got stuck

Tuesday, May 7th, 2024, at 5:23 p.m. (ET), we received a request for help with an offroad recovery in South Carolina. The requester, Thomas Ryan , submitted the following information: “2016 ford f250 fx4 4wheel drive on 37’s was inspecting power lines for work and got stuck I do have a tank of water and chemical / I’m with the vehicle.

David Mrak organized the request and verified the contact information, GPS location, and situation before submitting the request to volunteers within a 45-mile radius.

By 4:43 p.m., the request was out on our chatroom. By 5:54 p.m., we got Sean Kramer, who was one hour away, and Kaderick Towner, who was 45 minutes away, engaging on this request.

The requester added a bit more information: “Solid ground isn’t far behind us the issue is getting back here. We had to go threw a mud hole to get back here I think there may be a way to get back here threw dominions solar panel farm I have the key to get into there if so.”

By 7:11 p.m., Kaderick was at the scene, and Sean was still 30 minutes out. At 7:30 p.m., Kaderick announced in our lobby that the vehicle was back on the road.

We want to thank Kaderick for helping with this request and also Sean for making the trip all the way there. You guys are amazing. (offroad recovery in South Carolina)

Later, Kaderick sent us a quick note:

I didn’t get any pics, I had to get to work so we worked quickly. The truck was stuck hard and a kinetic rope would have been ideal as my jeep was less then half the weight of the truck. I tried a winch pull and just drug my jeep to the truck, so I tree anchored and block & tackled some more power and got him out of his holes. Made it back to the road  from there and off to work.  Block & tackle for the win this time!
